Welcome to Dhulikhel; Bestowed with Nature, Culture and Adventure

Dhulikhel is situated 30 km. east of Kathmandu on the ancient trade route towards the Tibetan border along the present Arniko Highway. Dhulikhel instantly evokes an image of a rich cultural destination surrounded by pristine nature. The old town is an assembly of old Newari houses and temples where the temples are a living example of traditional and old Newari craftsmanship.

Dhulikhel for many centuries has been a transit point for all traders from Tibet and India, who used to travel through Nepal on horseback spending at least one night in Dhulikhel. After connecting Tibet with a motorable road in 1965, Dhulikhel developed as a tourist destination enroute to Tibet. Dhulikhel is one of the most beautiful places in terms of nature, the landscapes and it’s cultural richness along with a host of adventure activities that are centered around great panoramic mountain views.

Blessed with all the treasures that nature could ever bestow upon any destination, Dhulikhel can also be an ideal jump off point for visitors to go on day treks and hikes. Within a few hours one can trek to popular sites at Nomobouddha, Panauti, and Nala via Banepa or Nagarkot. There are a number of trekking routes existing which combine historical sites through typical Nepalese villages, giving the visitors an opportunity to experience rural Nepal.

The Sunkoshi River is situated within almost visible distance, an easy drive that one can enjoy full day of river rafting, reaching back to the hotel in time to toast a spectacular Himalayan sunset.

The Dhulikhel town and its surrounding villages include a several hotels and resorts of international and tourist standard hospitality. In fact, Dhulikhel now has about 24 hotels and resorts, and visitors can find accommodation ranging from the budget class to luxury lodges/resorts. The hotels/resorts also have conference hall for seminar, training sessions, workshops and meetings.
